WHEREAS, the City of Ottawa, Illinois, is the owner of a 2008 Chevrolet Passenger Bus, which is no longer useful or necessary to the City, and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Ottawa the item of personal property be sold pursuant to 11-76-4 of the Illinois Municipal Code (65 ILCS 5/11-76-4) upon the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OTTAWA, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section One: That the following item of personal property be publicly sold in an “AS IS” condition to the highest bidder:
2008 Chevrolet Passenger Bus manufactured by Stertrans, seats 8 passengers plus two wheelchairs and has a handicap ramp loader
Section Two: That the item of personal property will be available for public inspection between January 8, 2020 and February 17, 2020, at 1100 W. Superior St., Ottawa, IL between 7:00
a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Section Three: That notice of the sale of said item of personal property will be given to the public by at least one newspaper advertisement and by posting notice of said sale at City Hall, 301
W. Madison Street, Ottawa, Illinois, and at such other locations as determined by the Commissioner of Public Property.
Section Four: That persons desiring to purchase any of said items of personal property will submit a sealed, written bid to City Hall, 301 W. Madison Street, Ottawa, Illinois before 4:30 p.m. on February 17, 2020.
Section Five: All bids will be deemed an offer to purchase and may not be withdrawn once submitted; the City may accept or reject any of the bids at the regular session of the City Council commencing at 7:00 p.m. on February 18, 2020. Any bid accepted by the Council will be deemed a contract between the City and the Bidder, and the successful bidder must pay to the City the full amount of their bid no later than February 28, 2020. The item may not be removed until paid in full.
Section Six: The City of Ottawa expressly reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive technicalities.
Section Seven: This Ordinance will be effective immediately upon its passage and approval.
Section Eight: Any ordinance or part thereof if conflict herewith is hereby repealed.
