Electrical License Information

Ottawa’s Next Electrical Exam is scheduled for February 7, 2025

City of Ottawa Electrical Licenses expire on December 31. Licenses can be renewed any time after December 1, 2024.

All renewal requests made after March 31 will be charged $250.00

All new and renewal license submittals must include the following:

A $150 annual license fee must be paid through the new registration platform (a processing fee will be added to payment)
A copy of the license holder’s General Liability insurance coverage showing the licensee as insured and the City of Ottawa as Certificate Holder.
A copy of your driver’s license or State ID (both side must be submitted)

Those wishing to have a company name included with license holder’s name on the license must be sure to include that information too.
